Bristol’s Ruby Jazz play a wide range of Jazz classics, including 30’s and 40’s swing tunes, 1920’s standards, ballads, Latin bossas and blues, they make every dance swing, and features some of the busiest local swing musicians. The past few years have seen them become a popular band with the swing dance community and their performances are often accompanied by a large numbers of dancers.
Expect a splash of Sinatra, a soupcon of Ella, a hint of Basie, a touch of O’Day and a peppery and vibrant gumbo of the great American song book.. Bring your dancing shoes and a swing in your step.

Somer Dining Jazz at The Chocolate Quarter returns after last year’s success with two evenings this week
Tonight we have Chameleonz, Keynsham’s big band, and from Bristol The Scarlet Muses the renowned all female jazz band
Tickets may be picked up from the Music Festival desk in the Library on Mondays, Thursdays and Market Day Saturdays between 10 – 12am.

Treble Bass is a 15 member strong jazz band, with students ranging from 13 to 18 years old. They perform a range of jazz standards and one or two original numbers too.
They have performed at the Bristol International Jazz and Blues Festival and legendary Bristol venue The Old Duke. Audiences have said that they sound quite unlike any school band they have heard before!
